NÆS Print no. 848: "Grandma's House"

Photographed by Liam Campbell, this portrait is of Guðjón B, the 848th subject photographed for Elska Press, part of our NÆS 01 (Restless Relentlessly) series.

At first, I thought it was rather ominous when Guðjón told me to meet him at his grandma's house. I thought she'd be awkwardly plying me with coffee and slices of happy-marriage cake while I tried to get her grandson to take all his clothes off. As it turned out, she was off in Spain and he was there to tidy up for her, but he thought the location would be an interesting setting for our shoot. He was very right about that! This shot of Guðjón at the front door is one I particularly adore. It's also the sort of image that makes me wonder if his grandma knew what we were doing at her house, and if she'll ever see this pic!
