Photographed by Liam Campbell, this portrait is of Vitalii Ts the 792nd subject photographed for Elska, part of our Elska Odesa (Ukraine) series.

The majority of my shoot with Vitalii was of him in his home, including plenty of nudes and lots of him showing off his artwork, mainly because we were trying to avoid the rain outside. But then the storm suddenly broke — he asked if I'd like to do a scene on his building's rooftop; I asked if he had “anything interesting” to wear. Vitalii then rummaged in a pile of still-damp laundry and pulled out this t-shirt containing a drawing of Jesus and the slogan, “Ісус Би Не Назвав Мене Пид…Ром!” [“Jesus Wouldn't Call Me a F*gg*t”].
