Elska Print no. 898: "Bobette"

Photographed by Liam Campbell, this portrait is of Rémi C, the 898th subject photographed for Elska, part of our Elska Regina series.

With a sort of ‘When in Rome’ spirit, I decided that I'd spend my time in Trois-Rivières only speaking French, which includes the entirety of my shoot with Rémi. I feared he might be annoyed with my grammar errors and simplistic vocabulary, but he seemed to enjoy teaching me new words, especially Québecois terms. “Bobette” was one of the new words he taught me, an especially cute word, but it got even cuter when he decided to take of his bobette and pop it on his head.

This photograph was shot on a Pentax MX using Rollei RPX film, 400 ISO, no push/pull, developed at Studio l’Argentique, Montréal, Québec
