Elska Print no. 819: “Silla"

Photographed by Liam Campbell, this portrait is of Alfonso T, the 819th subject photographed for Elska, part of our Elska Mexico City (Mexico) series.

One of my favourite scenes of any Elska shoot anywhere was this one, set in a bright end of Alfonso's office and using only his body and a chair. I took so many photographs of this scene, each one with Alfonso in a different position. To be precise, I took literally 144 images, so it was hard to choose which one to honour with an art print. Ultimately I chose this shot because it was one of the silliest. And since ‘silly’ looks a lot like the Spanish word for chair, ‘silla', this felt like the right choice.
