We tried to delay our outdoor shoot as much as possible, but eventually we had to brave the pouring rain. I was feeling miserable, and Jorge Fernando was only marginally better. Then a friend from the neighbourhood happened to walk by and offer to exchange Jorge Fernando's plain, black brolly with his rather more whimsical brolly. Instantly, the mood shifted — Jorge Fernando was bouncing around as if the umbrella was magical, and I was doing my best to keep up.
