Elska Print no. 635: "Snákurinn"

Photographed by Liam Campbell, this portrait is of Toby H, the 635th subject photographed for Elska, part of our Elska Paris (France) series.

As Toby sat down on the bed to start a new scene, he grabbed a toy snake that was laying by his pillow and instinctively wrapped it around his body. Somehow the snake stirred something in him, a certain part of him anyway, and soon the mood got a little bit too hot. This is the moment where he decided to cool off with a few gulps of water, just before he put the snake away and we continued the shoot with a little less ‘tension’. This image was always meant to be a sort of humourous outtake, but I've come to remember this moment with such fondness that I thought it worth honouring it by making it into art print.
