Photographed by Liam Campbell and assisted by Mark Blakey, this portrait is of Wataru S, the 139th subject photographed for Elska, part of our Elska Yokohama (Japan) series.

This image was taken outside Bashamichi Station near a series of vending machines, perhaps the most iconically prolific symbol of Japanese urban life. The name ‘Wonda’ is the name of a brand of iced coffee, one of many items found in these machines.
