Photographed by Liam Campbell, this portrait is of Şahin C, the 105th subject photographed for Elska, part of our Elska Istanbul (Turkey) series.

The horizon is wonky and it's all a bit out-of-focus, but it's very natural, and what's more Elska than that? Not just the photograph but the man. Low-hanging balls and a hairy crack, nice! The title of this, ‘Bir Saniye’, translates from Turkish as something like ‘wait a second’ or ‘hold on a moment’. It's what Şahin said to me when I snapped this photo as he was crawling off his bed to pick his underwear up from the floor.
